ASUS Eee PC 1000HE 10.1-Inch Mini Laptop - 9.5 Hour Battery Life
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE Mini laptop is by far the best mini laptop out there. It is one of the first netbooks to use the Intel Atom N280 CPU, which delivers slightly better performance than the processors used in most netbooks. With up to 9.5 hours of battery life, the 1000HE enables you to bring internet and multimedia wherever you go, without a power cord. Or even more if you are willing to sacrifice some performance. With 1 GB of RAM, a 160 GB hard drive, an excellent 10.1-inch display and a keyboard that draws compliments from most reviewers, few netbooks are as capable.
The screen display itself is easy on the eye. The colors are vibrant and backlight levels bright. Viewing angles also score highly on the ASUS 1000HE Mini Laptop. The only downside is the low resolution, but this is a general downfall for most netbooks, and not the 1000HE in particular.
The battery life is amazing on this mini laptop. You can get an amazing life span of 9.5 hours, that’s crazy. So you’ll never have to worry about running out of battery any time soon. In our standard video playback battery drain test, the system ran for 6 hours and 21 minutes, which is an extremely impressive number, slightly edging out the Acer Aspire One, and more than an hour better than the HP Mini 2140.
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE has a never before seen multi touch pad. You are probably wondering what the hell that is. Well I’ll tell you, it simply lets you use two fingers on the touch pad to allow easy use. So it makes it simple to scroll or zoom, it’s a very nifty function! It comes in handy because the keyboard is smaller so you don’t have to worry about smashing multiple buttons at once. Or fooling around with the mouse to get where you want, just touch and scroll.
The keyboard is the biggest physical difference from previous 10-inch Asus mini laptop. The new flat-topped keys are widely spaced, which is similar to what you’d find on a laptop from Sony or Apple. It’s a much-improved typing experience, and tied with the HP Mini 1000 as our favorite Netbook keyboard. Also notable: important keys, such as the right Shift key, have been relocated to a more logical position than on earlier Eee PC keyboards.
The good:

Slightly faster Intel Atom CPU fails to impress; other Netbook-makers have shown more innovation.
ASUS Eee PC 1000HE mini laptop
ASUS have certainly made some improvements with the Eee PC 1000HE mini laptop, particularly in terms of the keyboard quality with better spacing. The battery life is pretty amazing and has leapt above many other netbooks of similar price. The 1000HE is an affordable choice and one that has some good advantages.
